Demand-side prices for older apartments in Neve Sha'anan, Tel Aviv, have dropped by 10%-15% over the past year. Owners face a dilemma: wait for a pinui-binui (urban renewal, demolition and rebuilding) project or sell at a loss. Prices also differ widely from one street to another in the neighbourhood.

What it means for buyers abroad

Buyers abroad looking at older flats in areas awaiting urban renewal should compare prices street by street and check the actual status of any renewal project before deciding.
